Riverdale Elementary School held its Beta Induction on the evening of April 4, honoring the chartering members of Riverdale’s Junior Beta Club students. The students invited to join the organization have demonstrated outstanding academic achievement, exemplified worthy character, and have maintained a commendable attitude throughout the school year. There were a total of 70 inductees comprised of fourth and fifth grade students. All inductees received a certificate of membership and service pin.

The National Beta Club is the largest independent, non-profit, educational youth organization in America. For more than 80 years, it has prepared today’s students to be tomorrow’s leaders. Beta’s mission statement is to promote the ideals of academic achievement, character, service and leadership among elementary and secondary school students.

ChiKita Peterson, Katherine Wallace and Katherine McGowan lead the club as sponsors. The club is strongly supported by co-principals Tamee Railey and Kisha Watford, fellow staff, parents, and school board members.

At the end of the induction ceremony, members of the Riverdale Chorus presented their spring concert to the audience and enjoyed cupcakes to celebrate.

Riverdale’s Junior Beta Club would like to extend a thank you to everyone who attended their program in support of their accomplishments.
