The Western Tidewater Braves basketball team was victorious in the Explosion Tournament played on April 6 in Norfolk Collegiate School. The 10th grade boys from Franklin and Southampton combined participated in three games and won all three, which enabled them to bring back home the trophy.

The team is coached by Johnathan Myrick; team director is John Scott, and parent coordinators are Lakesha Warren and Shaquanta Myrick.

“We will also like to say thank you to Auto Zone for the donation and Sunoco for letting us host a car wash on March 24, and a big thank you to all of those that came out whether it was to make a donation or get your car/truck washed,” said Warren. “With those funds raised, the team was able to purchase uniforms.”

The Braves are Daemari Holden, Keshon Rawlings, Franklin Graves Jr., Jimmie Reed, Terrion Walloe, Javen Johnson, Jahmajae Bynum, Jordan Myrick, Kenaz Jones, Samuel Lyons and Mytriaze Battle.
