FRANKLIN —Irene Callahan Griffin, 84, passed away on April 5, 2019, in Southampton Memorial Hospital.

Born in Boston, Massachusetts, she was a daughter of the late William Callahan Sr. and Alice MacQuire Callahan. Irene was the widow of Arnold Benjamin Griffin, and also predeceased by her brother, William Callahan Jr., and two sisters-in-law, Geraldine Guinn and Joan Callahan.

She was a retired secretary from Grizzard Auto Parts Store with 25 years of service.

Irene was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary VFW Post 4411, Women of the Moose and College of Regents of the Women of the Moose.

She was a member of St. Jude Catholic Church.

Left to cherish her memory are three daughters, Deborah Griffin, Glenda Worrell (Richard) and Katherine Cutchin (Max Rawlings); a son, David Arnold Griffin (Melissa); a sister, Alice Callahan Wiatera; one grandson, Benjamin Griffin; two step-grandchildren, Rich Worrell and Kristen Clements (Danny); three great-grandchildren; two sisters-in-law, Joyce Livengood and Esther Burd; and nieces and nephews.

The funeral will be at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, April 9, in Wright Funeral Home with Father Charles Saglio officiating. Burial will follow in Poplar Spring Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Monday in the funeral home, and suggests that memorial donations be made to Hunterdale Volunteer Rescue Squad.
