Reading Lauren Sloan’s article brought back fond memories of downtown Franklin where my dad had a men’s clothing store — Billy Phillips Ltd. — for 50-plus years.

I vividly remember working there during the holidays and anticipating the Christmas Eve rush — those customers we knew by name who always waited until the last minute to do their shopping for gifts.

Small town shopping has always been my preference and I’m glad to read that it is still available in downtown Franklin!
