FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. — Mary Cross Davis, 72, was called peacefully to her heavenly home on March 13, 2019, at Florida Medical Center with her family by her side.

Mary Cross Davis

Mary, a native of Franklin, Virginia, and a longtime resident of Fort Lauderdale for over 40 years, was born on May 15, 1946 to Henry L. Cross and Eliza O. Cross.

Mary retired in 2007 from American Express as a Senior Fraud Analyst, serving nearly 40 years as a faithful and dedicated employee.

Mary truly lived life to the fullest through simple pleasures: Traveling, spending quality time with close friends and family and viewing her favorite soaps.

Mary had a unique ability to connect with people in a deep and positive way. When not serving others in the community, Mary could be found enjoying the process of spoiling and doting over her grandson.

Mary is preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Earl Cross.

Mary is survived by her daughter, Angela Davis; her grandson, Elijah Smith; and siblings, Shirley Godette, Thelma Gadson, Frederick Cross, Pamala Bynum, Roy Cross; and many loving nieces and nephews.

The memorial service will be at 1 p.m. on Saturday, March 30, in First Baptist Church, 318 Hall St., Franklin. She will be laid to rest in Diamond Grove Baptist Church Cemetery, Franklin.
