March FCPS Alumnus of the Month – Frank Rabil

FRANKLIN
Frank Rabil is a proud graduate of the Class of 1968. While at FHS, Frank participated in varsity football, basketball and baseball. In addition, he held several class offices, served as a class representative for the Student Government Association, and was a member and president of the Hi-Y Club. He was also an inaugural member of the school courtyard Garden Club.
Frank attended Virginia Tech where he received a B.A. in English. After VT, he taught and coached at Southampton Academy before joining the staff at the Bank of Franklin. In 1983, he began a career with Union Camp/International Paper. While working for those companies, Frank had the opportunity to travel the world as an Organizational Effectiveness specialist. He retired from IP in 2009, but continued to serve as a consultant until 2016.
Frank’s community service includes: Jaycees; Franklin-Southampton United Way; American Heart Association; Boys and Girls Club; Bronco Federal Credit Union; Cypress Cove Country Club; Village at Woods Edge; Rotary Club; and other local organizations. He was elected as Ward 6 representative to the Franklin City Council in 2014. In 2016, Frank was elected as Mayor of the City and re-elected in 2018.
Frank is married to Lynne Hubbard Rabil, and they have two children; Marshall and Jessica. Marshall and his wife, Bonnie, live in Franklin with their children, Noah and May. Jessica resides in Keswick, and is a guidance counselor at Louisa County High School.
