A Franklin man is in custody, charged with firearms and domestic violence offenses, according to Franklin Police spokesman Capt. Tim Whitt.

On Wednesday, authorities were made aware of an incident at a residence in the 800 block of Railroad Avenue. Investigation revealed that 28-year-old Khalil Wiggins engaged in an argument with his mother. It is alleged that Wiggins, on two separate occasions, pointed a rifle at his mother and threatened her life.

A search warrant served at the residence led to the recovery of evidence that corroborates information about the crime received by police.

Wiggins turned himself in to Franklin Police on Thursday morning. He was charged with brandishing a firearm, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and domestic assault.

Wiggins was remanded to Western Tidewater Regional Jail without bond.
