The Franklin City Democratic Committee hosted its first Black History program at the Sportsman Complex on Feb. 16. Dr. William Scott was the guest speaker with Edgar Dotson performing the music and Pastor Anthony Rawlings from Celebration Church serving as master of ceremonies. Senator L. Louise Lucas (D-18) and Del. Roslyn Tyler (D-75) were in attendance as special guests. FCDC presented Tyler and Franklin City Councilman Gregory McLemore with “Certificates of Distinction” for their dedication and continual support. FCDC Chairman Ricky Sykes and FCDC member Edna King coordinated this event. The program is considered a success, and FCDC has decided to make this an annual event. From left are committee member Edna King, Del. Roslyn Tyler, Sen. Louise Lucas and Councilman Gregory McLemore.
