FRANKLIN — Susan Elizabeth Harrison Griffin, 74, passed away on March 5, 2019, at Sentara Careplex Hospital in Hampton.

Susan was born in Portsmouth, and was a daughter of the late Jasper and Mary Harrison, and was also predeceased by a sister, Barbara Weatherford, and a brother, J. Alva Harrison Jr.

Susan was formerly of Emporia, and was a retired bookkeeper for C.S. Livesay and Co. and J.L. Walston and Associates, both of Emporia.

She was a member of High Street United Methodist Church.

Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Frank R. Griffin Jr.; one son, Frank R. “Robbie” Griffin III; three sisters, Mary Frances Allen of Lawrenceville; Janice Stevens of Roanoke Rapids, North Carolina; and Lois Gibson (Ron) of Emporia; a brother-in-law, Ronnie Griffin (Annie) of Franklin; and many nieces and nephews.

The memorial service will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 9, in High Street United Methodist Church with the Rev. Nathan Decker officiating.

The family will receive friends in the church one hour prior to the service, and suggest that memorial donations may be made to High Street United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 218, Franklin, VA 23851.
