Hurricanes off to roaring start

The men’s baseball team at Paul D. Camp Community College is off to a great start in just its second full season of play. Fully eligible this season for national rankings and postseason play, the Hurricanes — winners of five straight and with an overall record of eight wins and four losses — are nationally ranked for the first time in their brief history, coming in at number 23 in this week’s NJCAA Division II poll.
There are many games to go in this still young season, but coach David Mitchell’s ball club has already shown it has the talent and ability to make some noise at the end of the year. For a team that didn’t even exist at this time two years ago, that’s a mighty impressive feat. We’re fully on the bandwagon and excited to see what’s in store for the Hurricanes as the season unfolds.
