CARRSVILLE

In order to expand art, music and physical education opportunities for students at Carrsville Elementary School, an art auction as fundraiser will take place next week.

Teresa Weaver, who serves on the committee to organize the wingding, said a brief PTA meeting takes place in the school on Tuesday, March 12, from 6:30 to 6:45 p.m., followed by the auction, which will last until 8 p.m.

Among the items for bid are an embossed Redskins football, handmade quilts, paintings and woodwork such as birdhouses and cutting boards.

Weaver added that tickets to sports and arts events, such as from the Suffolk Center for Cultural Arts, will also be put on the auction block.
