Fred’s Restaurant burglarized

Isle of Wight suspect now in custody
FRANKLIN
An Isle of Wight County man is in custody after Franklin Police arrested and charged him with burglarizing Fred’s Restaurant in downtown Franklin.
According to Capt. Tim Whitt, department spokesman, officers responded to a burglar alarm at Fred’s at 12:06 a.m. on Wednesday, and discovered evidence of forcible entry. While checking the interior of the building, officers recovered items believed to belong to the suspect.
A K9 tracking team was called out and K9 “Jolene” was able to locate and follow the path of the suspect. This and further investigation led to the arrest of Matthew Adam Bowen, 34, of 1467 Carrsville Highway.
Bowen was charged with burglary and third-offense larceny, and has been remanded to the Western Tidewater Regional Jail without bond. All stolen property was recovered.
