CARRSVILLE — Jewel King Faison, 70, passed away on Feb. 15, 2019, in Sentara Obici Hospital, Suffolk.

Jewel was born in Warrenton, North Carolina, the oldest of six children of the late Edward Gray King and Pattie Alston King, and was also predeceased by her son, Thomas Edward “Sonny” Faison.

She was a 1967 graduate of Windsor High School, and was a retired administrative assistant for Verizon Phone Company.

She attended Radiant Life Ministries in Suffolk.

Left to cherish her memory are her husband of 52 years, Raymond Thomas Faison Jr., one daughter, Anissa K. Hathaway and her husband, Rok, of Camden, North Carolina; three sisters, Vanessa Jones, Patsy King and Jackie Jones’ two brothers, John King and Cecil King; two grandchildren, Katelyn S. Howard (Corey) and Joel Strickland; and a host of nieces and nephews.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 20, in Wright Funeral Home, Franklin, with the Rev. Don Milner officiating. The burial will follow in Bethlehem United Methodist Church Cemetery, Arcola, North Carolina.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, Feb. 19, from 6 to 8 p.m. in the funeral home, and suggests that in lieu of flowers memorial donations be made to the American Cancer Society.
