A Franklin man wanted for local charges was arrested on Friday by Suffolk Police.

Edmond Antonio White, 39, was apprehended for the following: Fleeing from a law enforcement officer; failure to appear on a misdemeanor charge; assault and battery – simple; and revocation of suspended sentence.

According to Capt. Tim White, spokesman for the Franklin City Police Department, the suspect will remain at the Western Tidewater Regional Jail until Monday.

The A&B charge, according to the Virginia Courts website, dates to Feb. 8, 2018.

White is scheduled for a hearing at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 4, in Southampton General District Court.
