Lady Broncos win over Lady Tigers, 50-45

It was all Franklin High School Lady Broncos for the whole game as they faced the Sussex Central High School Lady Tigers during their game on Wednesday in the Peggy Wilkins Gym at Franklin High School.

In scoring, the Lady Broncos had their best quarters in the first and fourth as they scored 21 and 23 points respectively. They were also on target as many of them scored 3-point baskets during the game. Tamiya Handshaw scored six 3-point baskets, Destiny Graydon scored two and Jamia Flythe scored one.

The Lady Broncos held the lead at the half with a score of 31-24.

In scoring for the Lady Broncos, there were four players in double figures. They were: Jamia Flythe with 22 points; Tamiya Handshaw with 20 points; Tayana Rogers with 12 points; and Miracle Monger with 10 points.

For the Lady Tigers, Chenelle Jones led with 15 points, followed by Najah Patterson with 11 points.

Lady Bronco head coach Mona Sumblin said after the game, “Good win, good win for us and we played a whole game finally.

“The girls played well tonight and I am really pleased so we will keep moving forward, hopefully.”
