What do Repair Tech Industrial Contractors, Belmont Peanuts and Cofield’s Locksmith all have in common? They’re among the many past recipients of the annual Franklin-Southampton Area Chamber Business of the Year Award.

Their recognition came in part by residents nominating them, and again this year we encourage you to also support other local businesses in Western Tidewater by recommending them for such an honor. That ceremony will take place at a date to be announced later.

Be aware that your choice should already be a member in good standing of the Chamber, should positively impact the community through its products and/or services, be a responsible employer with community involvement and must have been in business for at least three years.

In your nomination, offer some of the reasons that you think a particular business merits public acclaim. Point out not only the quality of services/products, but also how innovative is the company, or perhaps its leadership is exemplary.

Make this event an occasion to celebrate how people are working to improve life in this region through their work.
