Winning lottery ticket sold in Franklin

FRANKLIN
Two unclaimed winning tickets, each worth $1 million, were sold in Virginia. One of those tickets was bought at the Exxon gas station on North College Drive in Franklin.

“The ticket was for the Powerball drawing that took place on Saturday, Dec. 29. We sold the ticket last Saturday,” said Kim Eom who works at the store.

The other ticket was sold at a 7-Eleven in Poquoson. Both matched the winning numbers for the drawing, which were 12-42-51-53-62, and the Powerball number was 25.

According to lottery officials, the winner has 180 days from the drawing date to claim the prize.

The stores that sold the the winning tickets will each receive a $10,000 bonus from the Virginia Lottery.
