FRANKLIN
The deadline to apply for Medicaid expansion is on Saturday, Dec. 15. This Thursday, Dec. 13, Del. Roslyn Tyler (D-75) and Sen. L. Louise Lucas (D-18) will host a meeting about Medicaid expansion from 6 to 7:30 p.m. in the Sportsman’s Association, 1431 South St., Franklin.

Tyler tells constituents that if they do not have healthcare, then to please review the updated eligibility criteria for Medicaid.

To be eligible, you must be between the ages of 19-64 and you cannot be eligible for Medicare. One of the most notable improvements is that Medicaid will now cover adults without children, which before was not offered. The amount of income one can make also has increased, which provides an opportunity for even more people to gain coverage.

To apply for healthcare coverage, apply online at https://www.healthcare.gov, or contact your locality’s Social Services office for more assistance (see below.)
