YALE — James “J.J.” Joseph Dimmer Jr., 73, passed away on Nov. 30, 2018.

He was born in Toledo, Ohio, the son of the late James Joseph Dimmer, Sr. and Marie Kowalski Dimmer.

J.J. retired after 23 years as a Navy veteran, having served during Vietnam. He was a member of the Military Order of Cooties Pup Tent No. 11; V.F.W. Post No. 4411 in Franklin; American Legion Post No. 73; and D.A.V. Chapter No. 5.

J.J. is survived by his wife of 44 years, Patricia Ann Werner Dimmer; sons, Michael P. Dimmer, James J. Dimmer III and Matthew E. Dimmer (Amy); grandchildren, Isaac, Luke, Will, Gabe, Cody and Cassidy; great-grandchildren, Isaiah and Zoah; and sister, Corrine.

The graveside memorial service will be on Monday, Dec. 10, at noon, in the Albert G. Horton Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery, Suffolk, with Chaplain Tim Cormany officiating.
