Martha T. Griffith

FRANKLIN — Martha Taylor Griffith, 85, passed away on Dec. 2, 2018 in Gates County, North Carolina.

Mrs. Griffith was a native of Northampton County, North Carolina, and was the daughter of the late John Lewis and Gertrude Davis Taylor. She was also predeceased by her husband, James B. Griffith; a grandson, Michael Andrew Griffith; a brother, Lewis Fleetwood Taylor; and two sisters, Ida Mae Allen and Ethel T. Wheeler.

Mrs. Griffith was a member of Hunterdale Christian Church, and a retired bookkeeper for A&P Grocery Store.

She was a former Pink Lady at Southampton Memorial Hospital.

Survivors include one son, Alvin J. Griffith (Diane;) two grandchildren, David Griffith (Amy) and Kristy G. Cavanaugh (David;) five great-grandchildren, Alexis Griffith, Oliver Griffith, Carter, Griffin and Riley Cavanaugh; three sisters, Winnie Rae Davis, Delores T. Hoggard and Camilla T. Cannon; sister-in-law, Joyce Taylor; and two nieces, Luresa Tyler, and Teresa Whitley.

The graveside service will be at 11 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 7, in Southampton Memorial Park, with Pastor Randy Wright officiating.
