FRANKLIN — Pearl Modlin Juel, 94, passed away on Nov. 24, 2018.

Pearl was a native of Southampton County and was a former resident of Virginia Beach.
She was a daughter of the late Pearley and Minnie Taylor Modlin, and was also predeceased by her husband, Bennie A. Juel; two sons, Christian and Bennie Juel Jr.; five sisters, Elizabeth M. Rich, Grace M. Keech, Minnie M. Boone, Evelyn M. Modlin and Hope M. Dodson; and two brothers, Clayton and Roland Modlin.
She was a retired chief telephone operator at Ft. Story, and a member of First Baptist Church of Virginia Beach.
Survivors include one daughter, Diane Stokes; one sister, Bernice M. Hasenei; several grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 30, in Wright Funeral Home, Franklin, with the Rev. James H. Hyatt Jr officiating. Burial will follow in Rosemont Cemetery, Sedley.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral service in the funeral home.
