The members of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc., Lambda Psi Omega Chapter, recognized Breast Cancer Awareness Month by passing out information on Breast Cancer Awareness at the Walmart Super Center in Franklin on Oct. 13.
The members of AKA were able to converse with and greet local citizens and passed out approximately 125 pink ribbons and brochures to women, men, and children. Many citizens shared stories of their own cancer survival or stories of family and friends who are also cancer survivors.
Breast Cancer Awareness is one of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority’s international community impact programs which emphasizes the health and wellness of women all over the world.
