Worthy of recognition

Now in its third year, the Franklin Community Wall of Excellence has become an event to which many people look forward. It’s an occasion to honor or remember those men and women who added to their school — their community — above and beyond just showing up or doing their work. These are people who have or had been involved with civic, educational and social matters, and even artistic or athletic ones.
Except for Earving L. Blythe, a 1963 graduate of Franklin High School, the remaining choices this year were for the late Clifford A. Cutchins III (Class of ‘43,) Coach Robert “Bob” Sandidge, and Della I. Hayden. All were worthy choices. You can read about their qualifications on A9 in today’s edition.
This program of highlighting local people’s accomplishments in Franklin is one that we hope will continue for many years to come. Those recognized are role models for service.
