October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and Southampton Memorial Hospital has a special offer during the month to encourage more women to monitor their breast health. The hospital is offering $99 mammogram screenings in partnership with MDsave.

“Mammograms save lives,” said Dr. Nicole Yeshtokin, Board-Certified General Surgeon with Southampton Medical Group. “Today, thanks to early detection and treatment advances, more women are surviving breast cancer and living longer, healthier lives.”

In order to participate in the promotion, women must be age 40 or older and must know the date of their last mammogram.

Anyone who would like to receive the offer can make the following steps:

• Get a referral from your physician or healthcare professional.
• Go to mdsave.com/mammogram to purchase your voucher.
• Call SMH’s Imaging Center to schedule a mammogram appointment: 757-569-6408
• Bring the $99 mammogram voucher to the appointment.

Medicaid and Medicare participants are not eligible for the promotion, and insurance will only charge one mammogram annually. The program is in effect until Oct. 31, and is for screenings performed at Southampton Memorial Hospital at 100 Fairview Drive, Franklin.
