CAPRON
In response to the massive and ongoing need of those in North Carolina affected by the destruction of Hurricane Florence, members of Capron United Methodist Church and Capron Baptist Church donated much-needed cleaning supplies and other essentials to be delivered to one of the state’s hardest hit areas.

Last Wednesday, Kim Pope delivered the items, along with nearly $1,600 in gift cards, to area volunteers in Jacksonville, North Carolina. The cleaning supplies have been among the most requested items needed to assist in the recovery efforts, and the gift cards were used to purchase items such as diapers, baby food and formula for young families who lost virtually everything in the storm and subsequent floodwaters.

The cleaning supplies were delivered to a volunteer at White Oak High School in Jacksonville, which is still closed a month after Florence made landfall near Wrightsville Beach on Sept. 14. White Oak High School, as well as several other Onslow County Public Schools, will not reopen to students until Nov. 5.
