WINDSOR
Anna’s Ristorante Italiano & Pizzeria Too recently reopened under new management and in a new location. The restaurant, formerly located in a standalone building on the southern side of Route 460 in Windsor, is now in the Windsor Plaza shopping center next to Duck’s Windsor Florist.

Joe Anello, Anna’s new owner, said he acquired the restaurant from his parents in late 2017 when they decided to retire. They still help him out in the kitchen, though.

Anello is no stranger to running a family-owned restaurant either, having started in the food service industry at age 16 working in his cousin’s Smithfield restaurant, also called Anna’s. He and his parents relocated to Windsor in 2001, where they opened the first incarnation of the Windsor Anna’s. There is also an Anna’s in the town of Surry, he said, which is run by his uncle. However, all three are independent operations — not a chain.

Though Anello has added some of his own touches to the décor, including installing wall-mounted televisions, the restaurant’s menu remains more or less the same. The number of employees also has not changed, though Anello said patrons of the previous Anna’s may see a few new faces.

Since reopening, business has been good, Anello said.
