BOYKINS — Merwyn Walter ‘Ted” Nadeau Jr., 74, passed away on Sept. 21, 2018, in his home.
A native of Sanford, Maine, Ted grew up in Denver, Colorado, and was a son of the late Merwyn Walter Nadeau and Marie Rita Allaire Nadeau.
He was an Air Force veteran of the Vietnam War, and a graduate of the University of Denver.
He was a retired guidance counselor, teacher and coach at Southampton Middle School and Southampton High School.
He was a former volunteer at Southampton Memorial Hospital, a member of the Franklin Kiwanis Club and an avid golfer at Valley Pine and Beechwood country clubs.
Survivors include one daughter, Heather Breed (Aaron) of Midlothian; three sons, Gregory Nadeau (Anna) of Geneva, Switzerland; Jeffrey Nadeau (Amanda) of Charlotte, North Carolina; and Chad Nadeau of Blacksburg; four grandchildren, Adam and Natalie Breed and Ava and Reid Nadeau; one sister, Pauline Graves of California; and three brothers, Raymond Nadeau, Randy Nadeau and Robert Nadeau, all of Colorado.
The memorial service will be on Saturday, Oct. 6, at 1 p.m. at Wright Funeral Home in Boykins, followed by a reception at the Boykins Fire House.
The family requests in lieu of flowers, memorial donations be made to Boykins Volunteer Fire & Rescue.
