FRANKLIN
The Franklin-Southampton Area Chamber of Commerce will host a Memberfest Tailgate Party to celebrate its members on Friday, Sept. 28 from 7:30 to 9 a.m. in the Chamber’s parking lot at 108 W. Third Ave., Franklin.

The event will begin with a complimentary breakfast and preview of the local high school sports season. Members are advised to wear their favorite team apparel and network with peers and students.

They will have the opportunity to meet this season’s coaches, players, cheerleaders and drum line representing the Southampton Academy Raiders, Franklin High School Broncos and Southampton High School Indians.

FS Chamber President Teresa Beale explained that the Chamber tries to hold at least one member appreciation event each year, usually in the afternoon. However, this time, the Chamber’s board decided to hold the event in the morning to try and see if a different crowd would attend.

“We talked about kicking off the football season this time of year and giving the coaches an opportunity to bring some of their players, cheerleaders,” Beale said. “They will be able to tell a little about their teams and get the business community engaged in their athletic program. All the schools are excited to participate.”

RSVPs are appreciated but not required. RSVP to melissa@fschamber.com. Additional parking will be available at Franklin Baptist Church. In the event of inclement weather, the event will be held in the downtown Franklin Farmer’s Market pavilion.
