NEWSOMS — Mrs. Allie B. Branch of Melonfield Road transitioned from this earthly life to claim her eternal rest and peace on Sept. 3, 2018, while resting peacefully in her home.
The Southampton County native was born on May 12, 1929, to the late Willie P. and Lenora W. Hill.
Allie faithfully served the Lord and was a dedicated member of Mount Tabor Baptist Church.
She and her late husband, James, nurtured and cared for their 19 children.
Allie is survived by eight daughters, Pauline Friday (Charles,) Nora Everette, Elizabeth Eddy (Hank,) Clementine Hill (Kevin,) Juliet Branch, Caroline Branch, Pamela Chance (John,) and Toronto Neely (Frank); seven sons, Earl Branch, Willie Branch, Stanley Branch (Mildred,) Dane Branch (Janet,) Alvin Branch (Belinda,) Menzell Branch and Terry Branch; one sister, Otelia Suiter; 37 grandchildren; 67 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews and many other relatives.
The service celebrating her life will be at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 8, in St. Paul Holiness Church, 29491 Sycamore Ave., Sedley, with Vice Bishop Randolph Warren, host pastor; the Rev. Jeremiah Cole will deliver the eulogy. The committal and benediction will be in Whitehead Family Cemetery.
Allie’s remains will rest in church for viewing by 11 a.m. on the day of the service.
A traditional service with dignity will be conducted by Wm. M. Johnson & Sons Funeral Home Inc., 224 S. Main St., Franklin.
