COURTLAND — Charlotte Saunders Malcolm-Woodie, 78, passed away on Aug. 25, 2018, in Sentara Obici Hospital, Suffolk.

A native of Southampton County, she attended Tucker Swamp Baptist Church and loved gospel music.

Survivors include one daughter, Penny O’Donnell of Courtland; one sister, Brenda Marshall of Franklin; three grandchildren, three great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 29, in Wright Funeral Home with Pastor Joe Poe officiating. The burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, Chesapeake.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday in the funeral home, and suggests that memorial donations be made to the Courtland Fire Dept.
