SANDY HOOK — Dannie Ray Sutton Sr., 71, formerly of Franklin, passed away on Aug. 11, 2018, at St. Mary’s Hospital in Richmond.

Born in Middlesboro, Kentucky, he was a son of the late Willie and Rosetta McNew Sutton.

Dannie was a retired area supervisor for Hercules Inc. with 43-½ years of service, and was a member of Sycamore Baptist Church

Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 53 years, Linda Young Sutton; two sons, Dannie R. Sutton Jr. (Christy) and Jeff Sutton; two brothers, Billy Sutton (Debbie) and Jack Sutton (Cathy); two grandchildren, Andy and Brad Sutton; and nieces and nephews.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 17, in Wright Funeral Home, Franklin, with the Rev. Curtis Faison officiating. Burial will be private.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the funeral home, and suggests that in lieu of flowers, memorial donations be made to The American Diabetes Association, P. O. Box 15829, Arlington, VA 22215.
