FRANKLIN
Franklin City Public Schools will present a Stuff the Bus drive at the Walmart Supercenter on Armory Drive on Saturday, Aug. 18, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. The school district organizes the Stuff the Bus campaign to make sure that students and teachers have the necessary tools for a productive year. According to deputy superintendent Kelvin Edwards, FCPS has hosted this campaign in partnership with the local Walmart for the past several years.

“Walmart has been gracious enough to allow us the utilization of their storefront to collect items to meet the needs of our students each impending school year,” he said.

FCPS is very appreciative of donations of general items such as notebooks paper, pencils, pens, and Clorox wipes. However, if people want to drop off specific items, they can visit www.fcpsva.org to check out the school supply lists for each school and grade level.

After the drive, the collected supplies will be evenly distributed to the schools within the division. This will make sure that the students will have what they need throughout the year.

If anyone would like to help out with Stuff the Bus, but are unable to make it to the event on Saturday,  contact Tammy Moore at 569-8111 ext. 5901 for further assistance.
