Getting ready to return to the classroom can be fun, believe it or not. The Empowerment and Uplifting Foundation is doing what it can to ensure that will happen, starting with its second annual Community Back to School Bash.

The event will take place on Saturday, Aug. 18, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the College Drive Playground.

While they last, school supplies will be distributed. Speaking of which, foundation member Raymond Barnes said the group could still use the public’s help through more donations of said supplies as well as volunteers.

In addition to school items, food, games and music will be featured that afternoon.

Further, free haircuts, beauty salon appointments and manicures are also being offered.
