An Ivor man accused of shooting into an occupied vehicle has been charged with attempted murder.
According to Maj. Gene Drewery, spokesman for the Southampton County Sheriff’s Office, deputies arrested Mark A. Rose, 50, of Ivor on Thursday after identifying him as the suspect in a shots fired incident on July 29. The incident occurred on private property in the 28000 block of Berlin Dory Road.
The victim, who had been physically assaulted, told deputies he had been leaving the property when he heard the shots.
After he got home, he discovered his vehicle had been struck in the driver’s door by a bullet.
In addition to the attempted murder charge, deputies have also charged Rose with use of a firearm in the commission of a felony, shooting into an occupied vehicle and reckless handling of a firearm.
Rose was arraigned on Friday and released on a $25,000 secured bond. His next court date has not been set.
