WINDSOR
Dale A. Jordan of Windsor recently published her first children’s book, “Yvette Likes School.” The story is told from the perspective of Yvette, a third grader who is in her school’s talented and gifted class, as she encounters various issues in school and plays and learns with her friends.
The book was published in hardcover and ebook format by Page Publishing Inc. on May 4, and is now available for purchase at Barnes & Noble, Amazon.com, iTunes and the Google Play store.
Jordan, who published her book under her maiden name, Dale A. Joyner, said that one of her goals in life has always been to write children’s books.
“My inspiration for this particular book was my children and grandchildren,” she said. “They have the tenacity and stamina to become successful, productive adults, while at the same time striving for their personal goals. In addition, I wanted to include family values with an educational overtone within the story.”
Jordan plans to introduce her book locally this month at an event at the MoMac Brewery in Portsmouth. She also plans to hold a book signing on Sunday, Sept. 9 in Chapel Grove United Church of Christ in Windsor after services.
Jordan added that she is working on a second book.
