Summer Splash is a summer camp hosted Monday through Thursday weekly. Each week, Summer Splash will feature a recreational activity and additional camping opportunities for participants. The camp operates on a general schedule of morning activities from 9 a.m. to noon and educational enrichment to follow until 4 p.m. on Monday-Wednesday each week. Thursdays are reserved for field trips, which incur additional fees. Children do not have to participate in recreation activities or attend every week. Breakfast and lunch are included. Boys and girls, ages 4-14, are welcome to attend.

Recently, football and cheer camp was featured. Upcoming recreational activities will include: band July 9-12; volleyball July 16-19; basketball July 23-26; and baseball and softball July 30 through Aug. 2.

Games are a part of the fun with Camp25.

Camp25 is partnering with Kids Kab, Down the Middle Foundation, First Baptist Church, Courtland Recreation Center and Franklin Parks and Recreation to provide this Summer Splash Camp. There will be no camp the week of July 4.

Registration is available online at www.camp25.org, or in person by contacting Executive Director Eric Benton.

“We are very excited to be bringing Summer Splash Camp to the community,” he said. “Camp was a huge part of my childhood and I look forward to our kids having the same great experiences.”

Camp25 is a non-profit organization under the sponsorship of Kids Kab. The organization’s mission is to inspire and develop socially, physically, and culturally educated children in a fun, positive, and unique camp experience. The vision of the organization is to see holistically healthy children with confidence, high moral character and discipline. The organization was founded in late 2017 by Eric Benton and Darnell Lee Jr. who have been friends for 25 years and have found memories of participating and leadings camps throughout their childhood and young adulthood.

“We have been friends a long time and camp was a big part of our lives growing up,” said Assistant Executive Director Darnell Lee Jr. added, “It feels great to be able to influence kids in our community through Camp25.”

Since its inception, Camp25 has hosted several One-Day Camps to include cheering, gymnastics, indoor soccer, volleyball and track and field that averaged 50 attendees at each. In addition, the organization provided a Spring Breeze Camp where over 65 children attended. The staff and board of directors of the organization works closely and diligently to provide these opportunities under the direction of Benton and Lee who are both Physical Education Teachers and have many years’ experience in leading and directing camps. Also, the organization is hosting a Summer Soccer League and will partner with Kids Kab to provide cheerleading for their Summer Basketball League.
