VIRGINIA BEACH — Ronald Wayne “Ronnie” Kirkland, 62, passed away on June 19, 2018, in Sentara Norfolk General Hospital.

Ronnie was a native of Boykins, and was a 1973 graduate of Southampton High School, Paul D. Camp Community College and Old Dominion University.

He was a budget officer for the Army Corps of Engineers, and a member of Boykins Baptist Church.

Ronnie was predeceased by his mother, Edith Griffin Kirkland.

Left to cherish his memory are his beloved wife, Allison Jeanette Kirkland; his father, Ollie Wayne “Mutt” Kirkland (Betty) of Boykins; one brother, David Wilson Kirkland, and a niece, Jessica Lynn Kirkland, both of Virginia Beach.

The memorial service will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 23, in Boykins Baptist Church with the Rev. Scott Biggers and the Rev. Raymond Bunn officiating. Burial will be private.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the Boykins Volunteer Fire Department or the Virginia Beach SPCA.
