Shots fired on Bruce Street

FRANKLIN
On Sunday, Franklin Police arrested two Franklin men and a South Carolina man on charges of weapons and drug violations following a report of shots fired earlier that morning.
Officers responded to a call of shots fired in the vicinity of the 300 block of Bruce Street around 12:10 a.m. on Sunday. This is according to Capt. Tim Whitt, spokesman for the police department,
People in the area confirmed to the officers that gunshots had been fired and provided the officers with a description of the suspects’ vehicle.
The suspects’ vehicle was later located and stopped on Bruce Street. The officers’ investigation led to the driver and two occupants being arrested. Three loaded handguns were recovered along with suspected crack cocaine and marijuana.
Officers also learned that a residence on Rosewood Avenue had been struck, and recovered a bullet from the house. No one inside was injured.
Arrested were Jack Taylor Sykes III, 21, of the 300 block of Bruce Street, Joemon Dequia Artis, 27, of the 100 block of Langston Court, both of Franklin; and Joevonte Willy Robinson, 18, of the 2400 block of Watson Street, Elgin, South Carolina. All three were remanded to the Western Tidewater Regional Jail without bond.
The investigation is ongoing and additional charges are expected.
