Kids Kab announces the second season of the Summer Basketball League to be at Franklin High School in partnership with Camp25 and Franklin Parks and Recreation.

Games for the Kids Kab Summer Basketball League will begin on Tuesday, June 26. Teams participating in the league will play, at most, six games. Registration for the league is $35 per player. Boys and girls ages 3-17 can play.

Four divisions will be formed within the league, Mini’s (ages 3-5), Freshman (ages 6-9), Sophomore (ages 10-12) and Junior (ages 13-17.) The registration deadline is Friday, June 22. Teams will be coached by Kids Kab volunteer coaches. Registration to play basketball in the league is available at www.kidskab.org.

Camp25 will provide oversight and management of the cheer portion of the league operations. Girls ages 5-14 may participate in cheering for the league. Registration is $35. Registration to cheer in the Kids Kab Summer Basketball League is available at www.camp25.org.

“We are looking forward to a great summer season for the kids,” said Executive Director of Kids Kab Charles Cooper.

“Of course, I have enjoyed coaching in the league the first two seasons. It is a really good league,” said Eric Benton, executive director of Camp25, “Our ultimate goal is to introduce kids to cheerleading and make it grow just like the basketball.”

Kids Kab is a non-profit organization with a mission to support, empower and cultivate youth by providing safe, inspirational and educational activities and transportation for school-age children. Kids Kab was founded in late 2015 by local community leader and mentor C.C. Cooper. In addition to recreation basketball, the organization has several programs that impact the community in a positive and hands on way.

The Kids Kab Mobile Mentors program provides mentoring to children while transporting them to and from their educational and enrichment activities.

Currently, the organization has 175 children enrolled in this program. In the fall, the organization will partner with Camp25 to provide the SoCo Football League and provide flag and tackle football, cheer and band. The organization also provides a winter recreation basketball league and partners with Camp25 and Down the Middle Foundation to assist with summer soccer and spring and fall baseball and softball.

Lastly, the organization has recently launched Skill-Fit. This program is designed to inspire, motivate, teach and demonstrate a healthy lifestyle and work-out routine to decrease the number of children who experience obesity, anxiety, depression and other health problems. This program will also assist in the educational development of students using kinesthetic training and action-based learning to enhance their attentiveness in class.
