VIRGINIA BEACH — Kathleen Graham Wall, born and raised in Sanford, North Carolina, passed away peacefully at age 96 surrounded by family on May 29, 2018.

Kathleen G. Wall

Kathleen was a sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother.

She was predeceased by her husband, Ellis O. Wall; her son, Vergil O. Wall; a great-grandson; and seven brothers.

Left to cherish her memory are her son, Fred Wall (Joyce;) daughter, Laverne Brissette (Ray;) daughter-in-law, Elaine Wall; 15 grandchildren; 33 great grandchildren; and nine great-great-grandchildren.

Kathleen was a beautiful and remarkable woman with such love and compassion for everyone, she never knew a stranger. All that knew her loved her. When you think of Kathleen you remember her beautiful flowers and garden full of fruits and veggies. Kathleen was a faithful Christian and the oldest member of Black Creek Baptist Church in Franklin, Virginia.

Kathleen was an expert quilter, seamstress, cook and taught many how to crochet at the local college. She had a great sense of humor! When given avocado on her potato, she was asked how she liked it? Her reply, “It’s OK, but I wouldn’t walk five miles for it.” This world was a better place with her in it! The family would like to thank hospice caregivers for their help and support, and for the prayers, cards, flowers and phone calls from her cherished family and friends.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. on Sunday, June 3, in Black Creek Baptist Church with Pastor Fred Wall officiating. The burial will follow in the church cemetery.

The family suggests that in lieu of flowers, memorial donations be made to Word For The World Baptist Ministries, P.O. Box 849, Rossville, GA 30741; or Black Creek Baptist Church.

Wright Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
