Bond with your community at Relay

In two weeks, the annual Franklin-Southampton and Emporia-Greensville Relay For Life will be held on Armory Field in Franklin. We encourage all to come out on Saturday, June 2, and show your support for this year’s teams, cancer survivors and caregivers from throughout the Western Tidewater area.
This year’s Relay begins at 10 a.m. with an opening ceremony to honor everyone who has been affected by cancer, and everyone who has contributed to the success of this year’s Relay season. This will be followed by a survivor/caregiver walk.
The Relay will conclude with a luminaria ceremony, where each light represents a life — one taken by cancer, a cancer survivor or someone still fighting the disease.
Chances are we all know someone who has had their life affected by cancer. Relay is a wonderful way for the community to come together and remind these people that they are not alone.
