The call came in to the Franklin Fire Department at 2:22 p.m. Volunteers from Hunterdale and even as far as Boykins came to assist.

Capt. Tim Dunn of the FFD said late that afternoon there had been no injuries by either occupants in the building, Trinkets & Treasures, or the firefighters.

The crews were still combating the flames as late as 4:45 p.m.

A power outage downtown was a side effect from the burning. Residents were asked to avoid downtown because streets were being blocked off. They were also encouraged to not congregate around the scene.
