WARSAW
Join us May 17!

The Virginia Grain Producers Association, Virginia Cooperative Extension, Virginia Small Grains Checkoff Board and the Eastern Virginia AREC are proud to host the 2018 Virginia Small Grains Field Day. This year’s field day will be held at the Eastern Virginia Agricultural Research and Extension Center in Warsaw.

The AREC has been located in Warsaw since 1950, and focuses on breeding, variety testing, and cultural practices for corn, small grains and soybeans. Today, the Eastern Virginia Agricultural Research and Extension Center is home base for the soybean breeding project and the center for small grain field research — making it the perfect location for the Field Day.

The event will include field plot tours of wheat varieties, date of planting studies, malting barley varieties and management, small grain disease management, small grain nitrogen use efficiency studies, and more. We will also have an exciting indoor program of speakers featuring updates from Virginia’s agriculture leaders; information on small grain industry opportunities; all followed by a great meal with producers and industry members.

Two Virginia Nutrient Management Credits and two Virginia Certified Crop Advisor Credits will be awarded for participating in the field portion of the event.

Thanks to our sponsors and the Virginia Small Grains Board, this is a free event for attendees. Individual registration is not required to attend.
