PETERSBURG
It came down to a nail-biter on Tuesday as the Franklin High School Bronco boys tennis team returned for an on-the-road match with the Appomattox Regional Governor’s School. The match was played at Lee Park in Petersburg.

After completing the singles matches, the match score was tied at 2 all for the teams. This left two doubles matches to be played to determine the winner of the match. The Bronco No. 1 team of William Brown and Jahmajae Bynum won their match 8-3 over Knox Butler and Rory Dickerson.

But the Bronco No. 2 team of Demarcus McDonald and Jalyn Hobbs was struggling in their match with Erin Dodson and Ja’Zhon Walton. At one point they were down in games. Both teams battled, and the end result was an 8 all tie in an eight game pro set. The host coach ruling resulted in a win by two games to determine the winner.
