FRANKLIN
John Bloom, chairman of the Constitution Party of Virginia, returned to Franklin on Saturday to host a forum among the various candidates running for city council. Specifically, the topic was their plans to address the extraordinarily high utility bills Franklin residents received this winter.

The event took place in New Mount Zion Baptist Church at 2 p.m., with Bloom serving as moderator.

Participating in the debate were Ward 3 candidates Greg McLemore and Andrea Hall-Leonard and Ward 5 candidates Wynndolyn Hilliard-Copeland and Ricky Sykes.

The Tidewater News had not been given specifics of the date, location and time in order to report on the forum.
