FRANKLIN
The Rock Church Lions JV Soccer team continues to be a strong force as it took down Courtstreet Academy two times recently by a score of 6 to 4 and 5 to 2. D.J. Dillon, a seventh grader, had a career week with nine goals versus Courtstreet. Josie Fanjul and Benny Dillon both had one goal.

The Lions also squared up with Southampton High School and came out with a one-to-one tie. Gabby Fanjul from Rock made the first strike 7 minutes into the game with a strong left-footed shot to the right side of the net.

The Indians’ James Copeland would counter with a deep-shot scoring just before halftime. Both teams played strong defense to finish out with a one-to-one tie.

Rock Lions play their next game against Surry High following their spring break.

“I just enjoy watching these kids work so hard and play so well,” said head coach Danny Dillon. “The way they have been passing the ball is true soccer.

“The way that they display sportsmanship is true love for God.”
