An Isle of Wight County man is in Western Tidewater Regional Jail for several charges related to child pornography. Lt. Tommy Potter, spokesman for the Isle of Wight County Sheriff’s Office, said that investigators working on information received from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children — and in conjunction with the Southern Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force — recently concluded a month-long investigation concerning activities involving child pornography.
Investigators executed a search warrant in the 14000 block of Courthouse Highway last Thursday. Numerous electronic devices were removed from the home. On Monday, warrants were issued for Thomas Sadler. His last known address was the 14000 block of Courthouse Highway in Isle of Wight County. Sadler has previous addresses in Newport News and Hampton. He was arrested on those warrants that same day in Isle of Wight County.
Isle of Wight Sheriff’s investigators continue to research Sadler’s involvement as it relates to the possession, manufacturing and distribution of child pornography. Additional charges are forthcoming as the forensic investigation of the electronic devices develops.
So far, Sadler is being charged with one count of distribution of child pornography – first offense; four counts of distribution of child pornography – second offense; one count of the production of child pornography – first offense; and one count of the production of child pornography – second offense.
