RICHMOND
On Monday, GOPAC, a Republican political action committee, named Del. Emily Brewer (R-64) to its 2018 Class of Emerging Leaders. The Emerging Leaders program is a yearlong initiative to coach and develop state legislators from across the country on how to be effective legislative leaders.

Only one or two legislators are selected from each state, once a year to be highlighted in the Emerging Leaders program.

To be selected, an Emerging Leader must be nominated by a member of the organization’s Legislative Leaders Advisory Board or the legislative leader in their state.

“Our 2018 Emerging Leaders highlight our efforts to promote Republicans who advocate for the personal and economic security of Americans,” said GOPAC Chairman David Avella. “These men and women are a superb addition to the roster of Republicans we are developing nationwide to lead in their state legislatures and/or run for higher office.”

“I am incredibly honored and humbled to be selected as one of the 2018 Emerging Leaders,” Brewer said. “I look forward to working with policy experts, veteran lawmakers, and other emerging leaders from around the country to ensure that Virginia is championing the best policies for our citizens.”

Elected to the House of Delegates in November 2017, Brewer represents the 64th District, which includes portions of Isle of Wight, Surry, Sussex, Southampton and Prince George counties as well as the cities of Suffolk and Franklin.
