FRANKLIN
Armory Drive Recreational Park youth ball field was filled with youth players and spectators as the youth baseball season opened for the first day of ball games last Saturday. Although the weather was a little chilly, many parents and baseball fans were present to watch the little ones play, many for the first time.

The league, sponsored by Down the Middle Foundation and the Franklin Department of Parks & Recreation, opened the season with two T-Ball and two coach-pitched games.

The 10 a.m. opening T-Ball game featured the Miami versus Gators game, followed by the T-Ball game between the Paul D. Camp Hurricanes versus the Royal Tigers. Beginning at noon, the coach pitch teams took to the field. Game one saw the Mets taking on the Royal Braves. Following that, the Nationals faced the Mets.

Games will be played each Saturday beginning at 10 a.m. through May 5 at the Armory Drive Recreational Park youth baseball field.
