James Lee Story

FRANKLIN — James Lee “Tee Wee” Story, 79, passed away on March 20, 2018, in Sentara Norfolk General Hospital.

He was born in Newsoms on May 7, 1938, to the late Minnie Hill and Jessie Giles Story, and was predeceased by a son, James “Jimmy” Lee Story Jr.; a brother, Jesse L. Story; and a sister Blanche S. Drake.

James was a retired insurance agent and district manager for over 40 years.

He loved good food, especially seafood and chocolate.

He loved playing his guitars, fishing, hunting, the Yankees, being a Sunday school teacher and deacon for Black Creek Baptist Church, and spending time with his family and friends.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 44 years, Marie Slade Story; three daughters, Rachel Blankenship (Johnny,) Patricia McCormick (David) and Lori Lambdin; two sons, Chris Richardson (Kim) and Roy Lupton (Sherri;) 11 grandchildren, Grace Blankenship, Zack and Isaac McCormick, Will Lambdin, Taylor and Anna Richardson, Daniel (Jett,) Ryan (Samantha,) and Rebecca Lupton, Patrick and Jennifer Story; two great-grandchildren, Avery and Connor Lupton; and many nieces and nephews.

The memorial service will be at 2 p.m. on Saturday, March 24, in Black Creek Baptist Church with the Rev. Dave Patton and the Rev. Michael Barlow officiating. A reception will follow the service in the church fellowship hall. Burial is pending.
